DREAM MAKER'S PROGRAM

 

Greater Wheeling Area Youth Outreach (GWAYO) is an after-school tutoring/mentoring, youth empowerment program that mentors, encourages, and empowers low-income sixth through twelfth graders living in Chicago’s northwest suburbs to achieve academic success now and in the future.

 

GWAYO’s “Dream Maker’s Program” provides more than 100 youth annually with 75 minutes for homework in a quiet environment, 30 minutes of recreation, a healthy snack, and individualized tutoring strategies. GWAYO also transports students to and from the program site, and offers college-bound alumni an additional grant award after their financial aid packages.
